Details

Specialized's Roubaix Armadillo Elite provides a fast, comfortable ride with durability to last the long haul. It offers low-rolling resistance, solid grip in corners, awesome all-weather handling, and a higher volume for bump-smoothing compliance. You also get Specialized's Armadillo flat-prevention technology for peace of mind when you're churning out the miles.

Specialized's Armadillo Elite Puncture Protection.
Armadillo Elite is Specialized's toughest all-around puncture protection for 4-season high-mileage riding. It provides superior puncture resistance in a lightweight package with a folding tire bead. A Kevlar cap-ply (see image, light blue) protects the sidewalls and provides bead-to-bead puncture protection, plus an additional nylon belt (see image, red) under the tread increases durability where the tire contacts the ground.

The high thread-per-inch casing let this tire conform to the road/trail for superior cornering and comfort.

Disappointed with durability

Pros

Cons

  • Wears Easily

Best Uses

Comments:

These tires helped reduce the number of flats, had 4 in previous set of tires, only 1 with these. But after 8 months and 600 miles, the seams are splitting on both tires. I can see the kevlar. Definitely expected more life from them.

    Comments:

I rode on these tires for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The bumps were less intrusive and the one thing that I noticed was that my hands didn't go to sleep. It was like riding in cadillac versus a volkswagon.
